|“||Them boys be convoy destroyas!||”|
–Unknown Nazi soldier
Convoy destroyers, colliqually referred to as convoy destroyas, was an informal term used by the lower enlisted soldiers under Oberst Wilhelm von Lieder's 3rd Armored Heer Division when referring to the French partisan cell under Jean-Claude Marsalles in the town of Saint-Marie, France. The origin of the term came from the French partisans' ability to easily destroy convoys under the incompetant Hauptfach Fritz Diedrich. While the term was not used by Nazi brass who discouraged use of such term, it was consistently used by the Nazi lower enlisted until the Allies retook the city in 1944.
